Hello All,

If you are in Brisbane this weekend and looking for something to do:

10000 + bromeliads with nice wide aisles -

Bromeliad Society of Qld Autumn Show
Brisbane Table Tennis Centre.
Sat 02 Apr 8-4, Sun 03 Apr 9-3
86 Green Terrace, Windsor QLD

It should make Mt Cootha look like a small time affair.

Hi Rick,

Wish I could make it but I head to Darwin instead. Hope the new venue goes well! I wonder what Bruce will put in to the display this time. His last 'best in display' winner has been named N. Red Opal by the way (sibling of the back version).

Cheers, Pedro

Wish I could; but Darwin or Brisbane, Darwin or Brisbane, Darwin or Brisbane...um...er...DARWIN!!

I'm sure it will be a hoot Rick, my fav show so far. Love the friendship and camaraderie AFTER you knock each other over, outa the way and ignore your life time partner, just to get that special Brom.

We land in Darwin at 12:30 on Sat and with the tropical low around I am looking forward to a bumpy ride.

Hey Bruce, Olive won't be pleased if you win again! Go for it! That baby deserves fame!

Typo in last post - 'Back' needs an 'l' to make 'Black' as in 'Black Opal'.

See you in Darwin Shane. I get in midnight Sunday - low should have wandered west a lot by then, but the monsoon trough will still be there!

Cheers, Pedro

Hey Rick - thanks for the appetiser. What time of day were those photos taken? Not many folk there compared to usual. How did Bruce's 'Smudge Grub' go?

The new venue looks BIG! I see Nifty Nev giving a talk on tills. Hmmm...small audience.

Buy many goodies, Rick?

I'm off to Darwin on Monday morn, staying in Brisbane tomorrow night. Shane's already there, and he says it's soooo humid, and very wet.

More photos of the show please!

Kerry,

It was @1100 and pretty quiet. I picked up a nice Ae. mexicana albo marjinated and a couple of others.
I'm jealous of your Darwin trip - I used to go there a lot a few years back.
Excuse the disorganisation - more photos later:

Pete,

I'm not sure who owned the white Vrieseas - does anyone know?

Vr. Smudge Grub had some serious competition:
