Hi

I got a large specimen of this - maybe 10 of them in a pot.  It was pot-bound and floppier than I realized when I got it.  I repotted it and for reasons unknown I kept it inside where it got floppier.  some of the leaves are probably over a meter.  What does it like, and can the floppy leaves become erect, or better to cut off or??

thanks much, Mike

Hi Mike,
The leaves tend to get harder and colour a nice reddy pink if exposed to a fair amount of sun.
I wouldn't be in a hurry to cut the leaves off unless they are damaged.

I like the Hoh CA clumped look.

Cheers,
Rick

Floppy leaves are a characteristic of that species.  They'll be even more floppy in low light, but I don't think I've ever seen a mature specimen with all its leaves upright, even in full sun.  Also, it can burn if it gets a sudden change in light conditions, even from cloudy weather to sunny weather in the same spot.
