A while back I asked for an ID on a large brom that looked like an Androlepsis.

Here is the link to the old forum: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/bromeliad/msg072314051123.html

Here is an update of it in flower and it does seem like some sort of xAndrolaechmea as Kerry said. Obviously my 2 bobs worth at the end was not worth 2 bob.

Rick flowered his Androlepsis x macvaughii just recently. I tried to find his post but couldn't find it. So maybe if you could upload a pic here Rick, if you have time, that would be good for us all to compare.

So what do you think.

Cheers

Brod,

It certainly looks like a xAndrolaechmea; Brod have a look on BCR under xANDROLAECHMEA ‘Crateriformis’.

Rick, thanks for you response. The flower looks similar to Olives plant which is a xANDROLAECHMEA ‘Crateriformis’. The leaves however are different. Sometimes Ae. fasciata can have a channelled crinkled look to the leaves which Olives has taken on. So maybe this a variation that comes through at times because of the fasciata connection.

Are you coming to the meeting coming up.

Cheers
