Hey guys, I thought I'd let everyone know that the San Diego Bromeliad Society is hosting a brand new event this year.  It will be held at the San Diego Botanic Gardens (formerly Quail Botanical Gardens) on November 12-13th.  The event will be a (somewhat currently missing) opportunity to mingle and meet other bromeliad enthusiasts from around the region (and hopefully country and world).  We will be having a series of speakers (yes, me included), plant sales, a judges symposium, and the display and sale of over 30 original 19th century hand painted botanical illustrations that are professionally framed.  Admission to the event is free with paid admission to the gardens and we are working on a weekend discount pass for people who attend both days.

If anyone is interested in the event and needs more info, just let me know...

Yeah, I've been dreaming of a regional event for a couple of years now and everything lined up this year.  I am hoping that it will be well attended enough to convince our members to continue to do this (probably biannually) and if so we can probably move it toward a little more favorable date on the calender in the future--whether it still be at Quail or if we can move it around and have some of the other clubs host it (like at the Huntington!) in the future.
