Title: Broms in the Park 2011
Post by: Devo on November 06, 2011, 08:11:17
The rain held off, and it was another great day at Totara Waters, for the annual “Broms in the Park”.
Totara Waters is a must see garden, it features an amazing collection of plants, making it a treat for all garden lovers, and a paradise for bromeliad addicts.

Main event of the day is the special plant auction, and here is the line-up of plants ready to go under the hammer of Totara Pete. A few tillandsia were on the table this year…old, established clumps not often available. (Sorry about the unusual photo angle, had to hold the camera up and over people to get the pic!)

A few of the auction plants that caught my eye.

And the auction starts!

A few more pic’s from around the garden…

Wow thanks for sharing Devo, amazing gardens, amazing photos.  Oh how wonderful it would be to have such gardens to call your own, it's definitely a place to visit one day when I get over there.  Fantastic, thanks so much for taking us on a wander through the gardens :)

Superb botanical paradise. Like the neat clean lines of the garden combined with an interesting variety of form plants. The waeathered rocks are to die for. I can see that it is a labour of love and pure passion.

Craig.

Very cool.  As a landscape architect, I have always wanted to design a dream botanical garden of subtropical delights, highlighting brom's, succulents, palms and various other oddities.  Thanks for the photo-posting!
